Ancient Stone
When I placed my hand on the rock wall of this section of Willis Creek trail, I had a new and overwhelming feeling that I was touching time itself, and it felt very ancient. Looking around I imagined listening to all the surrounding stones describe their journey of countless years: traveling from deep within the earth to its surface, where they continued changing by eons of wind, rain and sun.
While cracking and crumbling through heat and cold, they had seen animals yet discovered and watched humanity adapt to a changing environment. The experience completely changed me and the way that I look at rock formations.
